What Are earseeds
Ear seeds are a type of auriculotherapy, which refers to acupressure or acupuncture focused on different points of the ear. This practice is based on the same general principles of acupuncture. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), your health is based on the flow of qi, or energy, along different meridian pathways in your body, including your ears. These meridians are named according to which internal organs they are connected to. Similar to the foot map in reflexology, a map of the ear can also serve as a microcosm of the entire body. Ear seeds are placed on specific points along meridian lines in the ears to help clear up any congestion or blockages in specific reflex areas and organs of the body.
The ear “seeds” are seeds, beads or pellets applied to the cleaned surface of the ear using tweezers and held in place with adhesive or bandage-like tape. It is possible to place ear seeds yourself, but they are generally much more accurate if placed by an acupuncturist or someone who has been trained to do so. Carefully massaging the points two to three times per day stimulates the flow of qi to clear blockages and ease symptoms. These seeds can start to fall off on their own after three to five days, but with proper care can stay on longer. This includes avoiding getting them wet when bathing or showering.
